Chocolate Immersion (1.5 Hours)
This immersive chocolate experience is hosted at one of the original artful chocolate shops of the world: Kakawa. Travel back in history as you learn about chocolate elixir recipes from the Colonial American and Colonial Mexicans. The chocolate elixirs you will taste are representative of these historic recipes, crafted with homemade flavors like pomegranate, cherry-chili, acai, hibiscus flower and mezcal. Our friends at Kakawa will share the process and experience of making chocolate, including where certain cacao beans come from.
A Taste of History
The first hour of this guided experience is a private tour of one of our favorite local galleries, including an intimate conversation about the featured artist. This is a unique look at the gallery's point of view and its relationship to Santa Fe. Akin to a wine tasting, guests will be taken through an extensive tasting of chocolate elixir recipes from the Colonial American and Colonial Mexicans. Your expert guide will educate you about different varietals, beans, and how these production variables influence the texture and taste of the cacao 'kakawa. A wine or spirit pairing is optional.
