Maize Celebration: Tamale Crafting Class

The Experience

We begin this interactive, hands-on workshop with a traditional corn grinding and a storytelling ceremony. Then, we will create a variety of tamales, a traditional Mesoamerican dish made of masa - a dough made from nixtamalized corn, which is steamed in a corn husk or banana leaves.
