Debuting in 2024

A Masterpiece in the Making

Auberge’s latest European escape takes inspiration from the artistry and perfection of Renaissance greats whose eye for beauty bridges past and present. Tucked down a cypress-lined entrance north of Florence’s cobblestoned centro storico, wrought-iron gates open onto Collegio alla Querce, an exquisite cluster of reimagined 16th-century UNESCO buildings once serving as a cultural institution, preparatory school, chapel and theater. The hotel grounds, embraced by acres of magnificent Baroque gardens, gaze upon panoramic views of the iconic Duomo and terracotta cityscape, and on the opposite side, miles of lush Chianti winelands. Offering all the pleasures of a refined country home, Collegio alla Querce balances the sophistication of Florence with the relaxed pace of Tuscany in characteristic Italian style.

An Opera of Culture

For millennia, Tuscany has seduced the imagination of artists, chefs and travelers the world over. Its abundance of natural beauty, culinary bounty and cultural treasures inspired a global renaissance in the early 15th century and its riches have only become more alluring with time.

Town and Country

Epicures can hone their culinary prowess with daily cooking classes in the restaurant and sommelier-guided wine tastings at the property’s own enoteca. Favorite wine labels are then shipped directly to a guest’s doorstep at home. In the city, take a bespoke tour of Florence’s world-class museums and Renaissance masterworks. Shop artisan wares in the happening Oltrarno district and exclusive styles at designer boutiques along Via Tornabuoni. Soak up the region’s lyrical landscapes along the Arno River and Boboli Gardens before hopping in a vintage roadster to cruise the rolling Chianti countryside.

A Tuscan Table

Tuscany elevates food to an art form. Global and regional classics like charcuterie boards, crispy wood-fired pizza and hand-cut pappardelle with wild boar ragù are prepared in a traditional salumeria kitchen and served in the restaurant’s main dining room among thriving lemon trees. An all-glass conservatory bar and lounge offers well-mixed cocktails and alfresco seating fringed with ancient olive trees, while an enchanting garden pavilion is perfect for a private meal. As the sun sets, take in dusky pink and amber skies around a firepit, sipping aperitifs in a Tuscan ‘bosco’ garden near the stylish pool bar.

Landscaped Florentine Gardens

A Garden Sanctuary

Slow your rhythm to savor the Tuscan lifestyle. Stroll mindfully among soaring cypress, laurel and oak trees in Collegio alla Querce’s sprawling Baroque gardens or converse in quiet corners of hidden groves. When the sun is high, disappear down tranquil pathways lined with bougainvillea and sweet-smelling wisteria before dipping into the cooling waters of the hotel’s 35-meter swimming pool. To unwind at the spa, choose from a menu of expert body treatments using nutrient-rich ingredients sourced from native soil and succumb to stillness in the plunge pools. Surrounded by soaring oak trees, from which Collegio alla Querce takes its name, the resort’s grounds will boast expansive lawns and five levels of terraced Baroque gardens, a work of art in itself and the vision of landscape designer Franchesca Watson.
