Cobá and Cenote

Archaeologists consider Cobá as one of the most important Mayan ruins on the Yucatán Península. During this unique experience, you will venture into the archaeological site of Cobá, where a local expert will take you on a journey deep into ancient Mayan culture. You will visit the highest pyramid (130 ft / 42m) in the Península, experience the ancient city by bike or tricycle (recommended for seniors), and get insight into what life in this ancient city must have been like. After the expedition, you will visit Coqui-Coqui, a contemporary cultural project offering the best in design objects and handmade crafts in the area. Swim in the cenote’s turquoise waters and enjoy lunch will be served by Cobá’s lagoon, featuring a breathtaking view of the water and the occasional crocodile sighting.

Reef & Cenote Excursion

Discover Puerto Morelos, where you will see the beginning of the second-largest reef in the world, the Great Mayan Reef. Explore one of the most nurtured shallow reefs of the Mexican Caribbean. Then, journey to a nearby cenote for swimming, snorkeling, and learn all about cenotes from your local expert while you enjoy the incredible underwater views of native wildlife, coral, and fish. You have the option to stop for lunch on your way back to Etéreo.

Three Cenotes

Step deeper into the awe and magic of cenotes, the sacred Mayan underground pools. Go on a journey of exploration of the different cenote types found in the Yucatán Península. Open cenotes, like natural outdoor pools, connect all elements. The closed cenotes, similar to caves, will allow you to view the geological formations that are unique to the region. Your guide will provide you with special equipment allowing you to see the bottom of the cenotes and their incredible depth. Enjoy the contemplative silence and connection to nature.

Chichén Itzá & Cenote

Visit Chichén Itzá, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Experience the magnificent archaeological site and its history while learning about Mayan culture and traditions. You will visit the temple of Kukulcan, known as El Castillo, and the Astronomical Observatory, and have free time to explore and be able to take beautiful pictures of the site. Explore the crystal clear waters of the nearby cenotes (Ikkil and Yodzonot) and snorkel. After lunch, you will visit the Magic Town of Valladolid, a small and picturesque colonial city that is rich in the history of the Yucatán Península, for an afternoon of shopping and cultural exploration.
