The Experience
Join one of our professional naturalist Guías for a walk along our AltaGracia trails to discover the flora and fauna that grace our micro climate. Costa Rica is known for its biodiversity, hosting 5% of the entire planet’s species within its borders. Whether you are interested in discovering interesting plants, birds or the creatures that call our jungle home, this experience will enlighten you to the variety and beauty of life that exists in our immediate surroundings. Choose your focus and let our guides do the rest.

Birdwatching
For those with an eye or interest in avian species, set out on a pursuit of some of the 300 species of birds which have been identified within the hacienda, including tanagers, flycatchers, and kites - as well as the larger vultures and smaller hummingbirds.
Flora
Surrounded by so much natural wonder, allow one of our naturalist guides to provide you with valuable information about various species of plants that can be found in our forests during this beautiful walk through the trails.
Butterflies
A guided tour around our gardens will allow you to learn more about the wonderful world of butterflies, ending with a magnificent stop in Caligo, our butterfly garden, where you will learn not only about the life cycle but also this passion project of the hacienda and the various species which call our ‘cocoon’ home.
