Hacienda AltaGracia + Flying Horse Foundation

Horses infuse transformative power in EAL sessions and can change the lives of children and at-risk individuals with traumatic experiences, learning difficulties, depression and other conditions. Each session uses a curriculum driven program that focuses on connection, awareness, resilience, empathy and self-control. This program is offered by trained professionals through two-hour sessions for children ages 7 through 17, including local youth groups from Perez Zeledon and individuals from the greater San Jose region.

  • Team members of Hacienda AltaGracia can volunteer to assist in these sessions. 

  • Guests of Hacienda AltaGracia may be able to incorporate community service projects in the future.

Flying Horse Foundation

The Flying Horse Foundation is a private charitable foundation whose mission is to advance the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of at-risk youth, families and seniors. Originally established in the United States, the foundation has recently expanded to Costa Rica. Founder Jeff Smith, said “The Foundation allows me, and others, to give back. To touch the lives of families with children in foster care and others in need, through equine assisted learning and much more."
