About Your Instructor

Scott Horn is a contemporary artist and leatherworker who blends traditional saddlery techniques with modern artistic expression. Inspired by his grandfather's leather tools, Scott creates pieces that are both raw and elegant, embodying the essence of "saddle tack for the city." A lifelong artist with a BFA in Theatre Design from the University of Kansas, he became a self-taught leatherworker after inheriting his grandfather's tools in 2009. His distinctive style features detailed illustrations, rich geometric patterns, and sculptural folding of heavy full-grain cowhide, all reflecting a playful self-awareness and engaging with broader cultural themes.
