Kayla Ortiz is the founder of Mineralbound Silver, a business specializing in beginner-friendly silversmithing workshops. A native of New Mexico, Kayla was working as a kayak guide in Alaska when the pandemic disrupted her career in tourism. Seizing the opportunity, she invested in a silversmithing setup and taught herself the craft. Over time, she developed a passion for teaching others, guiding students through their first silversmithing projects and helping them overcome the initial challenges of learning a new skill. While now focused on instructing beginners, Kayla continues to deepen her expertise, inspired by the creativity and transformative nature of silversmithing.
