Discover Emerging Artists with Bobby Beals at Bishop’s Lodge

As a fifth-generation Santa Fean, Bobby Beals knows Santa Fe. And after 20 years of curating his own fine art gallery, Beals definitely knows art. With Bobby Beals Presents at the Horseshoe Gallery at Bishop’s Lodge, Beals is elevating the Santa Fe art scene with exclusive new experiences aimed at showcasing emerging artists.

Art Beyond the Walls

“Starting with a fine art gallery, we’ve expanded to art shows, culinary art experiences, heightened artist in residence programs, live demonstrations, art panel discussions, and creative interactive art events,” Beals said.

“The guest experience is the goal, with artworks that aim to inspire and give a sense of place at the resort."

Roster for Discovery

Known for his artistic vision, Beals was named a “Curator of the Year” by The Santa Fe Reporter. For Bobby Beals Presents, he handpicked artists Micqaela Jones, Cody Brothers, Matt Gutierrez, Frank Gonzales, Matt Campos, Wayne Nez Gaussoin, David Rudolph, Tim Kenney, Chadwick Uptain, Alexandra Eldridge, Luis Diego Rigales, Coulter Prehm and Feathered & Forage.

Less is More

While Beals used to represent 70 artists at any given time, he’s only showcasing 15 artists for Bobby Beals Presents. It’s an approach that allows guests to engage more intimately with each artist and to facilitate a deeper sense of connection.

For Beals, art is more than just color or composition. It’s about telling the story behind each piece of art as well as the artist’s own narrative in a unique way. “It’s a different way of doing things,” he emphasized. For the inaugural event, abstract painter Tim Kenney collaborated with SkyFire executive chef Pablo Peñalosa to curate “Contexture: Tim Kenney + Pablo Peñalosa,” a multi-sensory dinner that played with flavor and form, part of the Artist Dinner Series meant to exhilarate, engage and inspire.
