Join us at our beloved local landmark as we welcome legendary Montreal culinary institution, Joe Beef, for an immersive weekend of food and wine on the Maine coast. The long celebrated restaurant, most recently named number two on Canada's 100 Best Restaurants, will bring its philosophy of culinary excess and fun to White Barn's Forbes Five Star, AAA Five Diamond dining destination. From collaborative dinners with White Barn's expert culinary team and Joe Beef's Frédéric Morin to interactive panels and workshops, a unique weekend of international epicurean adventure awaits.

Friday, May 3rd

  • 6:00 – 7:00pm | Cocktail & Oyster Hour – Commence the culinary weekend with Joe Beef with specially curated cocktails in our convivial and historic Barn Bar.

    7:00 – 9:00pm | From Canada to the Coast Dinner – Gather in our Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond Dining destination White Barn Inn Restaurant or more casual dining outlet Little Barn to embark on an epicurean journey with legendary culinary institution, Joe Beef.

Saturday, May 4th

  • 11:00 – 11:30am | Conversations with Fred – Meet with the Joe Beef’s co-founder and learn about the history of the long-celebrated restaurant, Fred’s culinary journey and neurogastronomy, the pleasure of eating on a biological level.

    2:00 – 3:00pm | The Wines of Beaujolais Tasting with Joe Beef Sommelier Laura Piasek – Join us in Little Barn for an immersive and intimate wine tasting experience with the sommelier from Joe Beef, Laura Piasek. Learn about the wines of Beaujolais – the history, the crus, the grapes and why we love them.

    5:30 – 8:30pm | Epicurean Delights with Joe Beef – Finish your weekend of epicurean experiences with a grand, final dinner event in our 150-year-old  Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond Dining destination White Barn Inn with the chefs from Joe Beef and White Barn Inn’s culinary team.


About Joe Beef

Fred Morin co-founded Joe Beef in 2005 along with his wife Allison Cunningham. After 18 years, three kids, two cookbooks, three more restaurants, a line of retail spices and sauces, hundreds of paintings, even more fleeting fascinations of worldly leisures and trades, several local and international accolades including the ultimate benediction from the late, great Anthony Bourdain, Fred’s devotion to the pleasures of the table remains undying. His doting captivation for grand French classics and the bounty of the North American Eastern seaboard continue to play out each day on the Joe Beef menu whose regular offering is replete with fresh oysters, seafood, roast fish, fowl and meats served with paragonal sauces of the old world. His cerebral yet playful animateness make dining at Joe Beef a special treat not only for the delights that grace the table but also for the rich and profound conversations that are sparked when Fred finds his way to the dining room, with topics ranging anywhere from model trains to Jerry Garcia to neurogastronomy.
