White Barn Inn will support the Maine Coast Fishermen's Association, which enhances the sustainability of Maine's fisheries and fishermen/women by advocating for fair market prices as well as providing and funneling food to public schools and food banks.

Throughout the year, White Barn Inn collaborates with chefs on menus and activations that speak to the culinary ethos of the hotel and Maine’s food culture. In May of 2022, we will kick off a weekend of culinary events in partnership with Barton Seaver, renowned chef, seafood expert and activist for sustainable food systems and education. Barton and our chef will team up to host culinary events and workshops that highlight the faces and farms behind Maine-grown oysters, fish, lobster and more. Proceeds from ticket sales for this event will support the Maine Coast Fisherman's Association and their work, building the foundation for an ecosystem of farmers, chefs, environmentalists and our community that White Barn will grow for years to come. In addition, we will donate a $20 amount to MCFA for every seafood-related experience and menu offered to guests at White Barn.

MCFA is an industry-led non-profit that works on behalf of the community-based fishermen of Maine. Our goal is to ensure that Maine's fishing communities can thrive today, tomorrow, and forever. We do this by advocating for policies and regulations that create healthy and sustainable fisheries, securing access to those fisheries by protecting working waterfront, permit banking, and through policy initiatives, and promote fishing and business innovation through research and community development.
