Weekend Guide to Napa: A Gourmand’s Paradise

Feb 10, 2015

There is rarely a day of bad weather in Napa Valley. Driving down Highway 29 with the top down and the wine-scented air blowing through your hair are the makings of a perfect weekend road trip away from the city. Below, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite stops through wine country to help you plan your next getaway to our resort in Napa!

Model Bakery – For close to 90 years, The Model Bakery has been part of the Napa Valley culinary scene, providing the best breads, pastries and coffee house in St. Helena.  When you visit make sure to try their world renowned english muffins.

  • Quintessa – Quintessa is a family-owned biodynamic and organic wine estate in Rutherford, Napa Valley. We believe the best way to truly experience this stunning and distinctive property is through privately hosted experiences that are customized for each guest. Reservations for these experiences are available to visitors by appointment only between 10am and 4pm daily.
  • CadeCADE Estate Winery sits high above the fog line on the dramatic slopes of Howell Mountain, just northeast of the town of St. Helena. The building’s striking architecture, a dialogue between gentle contours and strong rectilinear forms, suggests the complexity of our wines– powerful yet nuanced expressions of our mountain terroir.
  • Lava VineLava Vine Winery specializes in small production, handcrafted wines from Napa and Knights Valley organic vineyards.  Located in Calistoga, they are family run and dog friendly, housed in a barn that’s casual and inviting — a place to experience exceptional wines, celebrate small town life, and leave as a friend.
