The Experience
Parktake in an intimate shopping experience at local shop and studio Zürner Oceanic, exclusively for The Vanderbilt guests. With a glass of wine or bubbly in hand, Create a custom Zürner Oceanic bag using vintage and antique marine grade materials, including rope, sailcloth and hardware. Jennie and John Zuerner will share stories about each piece, where it came from and what it would have been used for on the water. After laying out the bag design, John will assemble and sew the bag and ship it directly to your doorstep as a keepsake of your time in Newport. Patches, monograms and zippers can be added to further personalize the bag at an additional cost.

Children ages 8 and up can participate in designing either a shackle bracelet or their own hand painted travel backgammon game, but must have adult supervision. Zürner Oceanic will create coloring sheets of a backgammon board and a bracelet, and kids can color it in to create the design of their choice. Zürner Oceanic will take their artwork as inspiration and use it to create their custom bracelet or backgammon board, and will send it to them afterwards along with their original artwork.
