Leveling Up

Mayflower + Shepaug Valley Partnership

Through the Shepaug School Transition Program, Mayflower offers employment opportunities to students in the program to teach them about the hospitality industry while allowing them to hone life skills for the future. Our transition program is for students 18-22 years old that have met their academic requirements to graduate but need to continue to develop their vocational and independent living skills. Each transition plan is individually created to the strengths, interests, and vocational preferences of each young adult in the program. In celebration of the hotel’s culinary program, Mayflower will partner with a school in Region 12 for a day where our culinary team assists with the menu development and execution of a healthy, farm-to-table meal for their students. Finally, keeping in line with the hotel’s emphasis on nature and wellness, Mayflower will host wellness days open to all members of the community, providing an opportunity to reset, connect with nature, and build stronger community ties.
