Head 5 minutes north or south of Surf Shack to reach a couple of our favorite surf spots on the Big Island. Before paddling out, experiment with weight distribution, practice a few pop ups and learn the difference between regular and goofy-footed surfing. Once you're ready to find your spot in the line-up, paddle to the outside with our Kainalu Pros, who will help you catch the first of many waves to come. Private lessons are recommended for those with little to no surfing experience. Semi-private lessons are recommended for intermediate surfers who are seeking further instruction.
