Yvan Mucharraz, Executive Chef
Mucharraz who is fluent in three languages (English, Portuguese and Spanish) began cooking in the kitchen with his mom at the age of 15. His passion for food led him to culinary school in Mexico City. He started his career at La Bombilla under chefs Yuri de Gortari and Edmundo Escamilla. During his time at La Bombilla, he honed his skills in Mexican gastronomy, delving deep into recipe development and showcasing the cuisine at conferences and festivals around the world in partnership with the respective Mexican embassies overseas.
He seized the opportunity to train under famed C hef Thomas Keller at The French Laundry in Yountville, CA, In 2011, he returned to Mexico with a passion to use authentic Mexican ingredients in a fresh, new creative way. After helping create food and beverage concepts at both Esperanza and The Resort at Pedregal, Mucharraz joined Chileno Bay Resort & Residences.
