Avid adventurers and ardent fans of the great outdoors call Telluride their spiritual home, nestled at the end of a lush box canyon, where red rocks rise from the canyon floor, and the snowy peaks of the San Juan Mountains loom majestically ahead. You’ll feel right at home with our relaxed mountain lifestyle—and with the Madeline family.

Ski out our back door

And in to a true skier's haven, known for some of the steepest and most diverse terrain in North America and sublime weather conditions that include an average annual snowfall of 300 inches and 300 days of sunshine.

Dining rooted in the local terrain

Anchored by a commanding double-sided fireplace, the newly debuted Timber Room blends chalet vibes with modern elements. The social heart of the resort features cozy lounges for two and chic booths punctuated by mountain landscapes. An ornate oak bar inspired by folkloric alpine design is a nod to jet-setting ski destinations such as Magève and Gstaad. Timber Room’s outdoor space leads into Reflection Plaza, the most picturesque setting in Telluride, where guests can keep warm under sheepskin blankets and nestle next to a fire pit overlooking Mountain Village’s beloved ice rink.

Go home with a story

Madeline Hotel is adventure central, with ski-in, ski-out access, and located steps away from where hiking trails start and access to the rugged Colorado backcountry begins.

The hotel is centrally located in Mountain Village. The rooms are large and clean, but most importantly, the entire staff on the property goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. I could not recommend this hotel more to anyone traveling to Telluride.

Do Kisses, The Gondola, and Little Hawaii

You might think that having my first kiss on the free Mountain Village Gondola would be my favorite childhood memory in Telluride, but discovering the secret trail to “Little Hawaii” takes first place when it comes to magical moments in this mountain town.

Go My Favorite Place in Telluride Is Suspended in Air at 10,540 Feet

We only put 130 miles on our rented car— 65 miles to the Madeline, and 65 back to the airport. The car lived in the lap of luxury in the parking garage our entire stay, largely thanks to Telluride’s free gondola.

Do Our Spa Director’s New Favorite Healing Ingredient

In my former life, I was the Spa Director at Mukul in Guacalito, Nicaragua, where I crafted a wellness program that specialized in indigenous rituals, crystals, and other local elements. Now, as the Spa Director at Madeline, I use the same natural approach to healing—and I get to incorporate my new favorite wellness ingredient: CBD. Colorado became one of the first states to legalize recreational marijuana, so it’s only fitting we have CBD, or cannabidiol, a chemical compound found in the cannabis plant, on our spa menu.
