The Experience

How do bees build hives? Why does water travel downhill? Kids explore these questions and more at the fun and educational classes and camps offered at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES). Kids ages 4-18 will be greeted by the resident Golden Eagle before exploring the 25-acre Hallam Lake Nature Preserve using microscopes, binoculars and field guides or building primitive shelters, bridges and tunnels. It's a zoo, a museum and a hands-on classroom – all in one.

  • Drop-in, daily, weekly, and overnight classes and camps available from June through August
  • Parents optional
