Itinerary Highlights

Relish the breadth of award-winning cuisine available in the melting pot of Austin. Fill your days with sightseeing and adventure, so you can indulge at local hot spots, Texas Hill Country wineries and downtown's hidden gems.

Day 1

Morning

Savor breakfast in the Mansion dining room. Then, enjoy a walk through Commodore Perry's quaint neighborhood, Hyde Park.

Drive to Clarksville where you can explore the Whole Foods Flagship, Book People and Waterloo for a classic Austin experience. Walk across the street to shop the By George Flagship with luxury brands, or Kick Pleat, with a killer collection of designer accessories and clothing.

Afternoon

Share a dozen oysters and crab cakes before a burger and an ice cold martini at Clark's Oyster Bar. Drive to Mozart's Coffee Roasters for a late-afternoon pick me up.

Once you return to the Estate, stop by Records and Reserves, Saturdays from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Listening to warm, crackly vinyl while sipping specially curated reserve bottles ranging from cult Napa Valley Cabs to limited runs of small batch bourbon.

Evening

Enjoy a spread at Launderette, an art-filled neighborhood restaurant with a tasty menu.

Follow up with The Brewer's Table on East 5th Street. Hit the funkier side of town on East 6th Street, with everything from natural wine bar LoLo to mysterious Ah Sing Den, named after the world's most famous opium den from Victorian times. Get a Oaxacan old fashioned at Whisler's specialty cocktail bar, then scoot on over to White Horse for country and western dancing, or check out The Scoot Inn for an outdoor show.

Day 2

Morning

Start burning calories before you start eating them with a Commodore Perry Estate fitness class.

Indulge in weekend brunch (you've earned it) at Fonda San Miguel. Their weekend brunch buffet is a decadent experience set in the most colorful, hacienda-style space.

Afternoon

Feast your eyes with a visit to Laguna Gloria, an outdoor sculpture park with pieces from the likes of Ai Wei Wei. It's spread out around the grounds of the former home of Clara Driscoll, a 1916 Italianate-style villa on the shores of Lake Austin.

Visit the working studios of Austin artists at Canopy, a community of artists, gallerists and other creative types, located on almost four acres on the east side. Set up a studio visit with some of our favorites, including ceramicist Keith Kreeger. Don't miss EAST, a self led artist studio tour every Fall, where all the artists' doors open to the public.

Evening

Request a table on the patio to enjoy the view of the Estate Gardens at Lutie's. Order the Estate's signature mezcal cocktail, The Commodore. A perfect blend of smoke, spice, and herbs. Try Chef Bradley's garlic fish, made with the catch of the day.

Catch a show at any of Austin's live music venues. Ask your Estate Host for details on performances and ticket availability.

Satisfy a late night craving with Detriot style pizza (made in auto parts pans) at Via 313 on Rainey Street, the food truck behind the beer bar, Craft Pride.

Day 3

Morning

Work off the night before with a sweaty boot camp class. Let your Estate host know your fitness goals and we will have our fitness partner create a custom workout to challenge you.

Enjoy French-pressed coffee in your room before departing for wine tasting in Hill Country. Ask your Estate host for a comprehensive guide to the many wineries throughout the Texas Hill Country.

Afternoon

Satiate your appetite with the lobster Benedict at Emma & Ollie in Fredericksburg. If you want to try a Southern favorite, order the Papa's Plate. This is a hand breaded and fried beef tender (better known as "chicken-fried steak) served with over easy eggs, hash browns and gravy. This spot located just south of Main Street was on Texas Monthly magazines's list of top new Texas restaurants for 2019. The farm to table menu is inspired by memories of food cooked in the kitchen of the owners' grandmothers.

Hit a couple (or more) of Texas Hill Country wineries. Grape Creek in Fredericksburg and William Chris in Hye are tops.

Evening

Join us in the Mansion Bar between 5:00 and 6:30 pm for The Mystic Hour, where you can sip on a cocktail while receiving a complimentary tarot reading.

Choose between one of Austin's top restaurants located in charming neighborhoods. We recommend Jeffrey's, Olamaie, Fonda San Miguel, and Launderette.

Check out Midnight Cowboy on East 6th Street downtown, where the intimate vibe is amplified by prohibited cell phone use. But, be sure that your Estate Host reserves a table for you in advance.
