3-Day Sample Itinerary Austin Love

Itinerary Highlights

Our team of Austin experts has put together a few ideas for romance and adventure that capture the town's character.

Day 1

Morning

Take a leisurely stroll off of the Estate through the picturesque Hyde Park neighborhood, established as an Austin suburb in the 1890's on the old Texas State fairgrounds. End up on Duval Street at everyone's favorite Hyde Park bakery, Quack's. Try the jalapeño cheddar sausage kolache or the vegetarian sausage kolache with smoked gouda. On your way back, pop into the popular Antonelli's Cheese Shop. Pick out a specialty cheese for an afternoon snack.

While you are in the area visit the Elizabet Ney Museum. An early leader in the Texas Women's Movement, Ms. Ney purchased this beautiful estate in 1882 and made it her home and studio, shortly after she emigrated from Germany. Her masterful sculptures of world figures are on display to admire.

Afternoon

Cozy up in a kayak for two and paddle along Lady Bird Lake. Or, for a more rigorous challenge, paddleboard your way into the day with views of downtown. Allow us to make your reservation and the second hour of your rental will be free.

Paddle west from the dock to the Congress Avenue bridge. March to November, the largest urban bat colony in North America resides up in the cracks of the bridge. You can hear the restless ones that aren't sleeping making their signature high-pitched squeaks.

Drive down South Congress for lunch at June's All Day. Rehydrate from a day in the sun with the citrus and gorgonzola salad and get your fill on the Spicy Lamb Meatballs. Don't forget to order a refreshing glass (or bottle) of June's Sparkling Rosé, a wine specially made by the master sommelier, June Rodil.

Now that you've gotten some sustenance for the afternoon, walk down the street to the eclectic and quirky shops of South Congress. Don't forget to pick up your perfect Texas hat - whether you're into a short brim LBJ style or a Texas-sized Stetson. Get a custom hat fitting at local shop Maufrais. While you're at it, you might as well get some boots to go with it. Modern boot maker and leather goods purveyor Tecovas has your feet covered. For a higher-end classic style, Heritage Boots is your go-to. If you're looking for contemporary luxury clothing for men or women, homegrown By George boutique has designer brands curated to get that effortless Austin look.

Evening

Join us for our Weekday Punchbowl from 4-6pm in the Mansion.

Dine on bone marrow tacos at Comedor, a downtown spot serving inventive and modern Mexican cuisine which hit Esquire Magazine's list of top new restaurants in America for 2019. If you're feeling daring, take a tequila shot right out of the bones from your tacos.

Catch a show at any of Austin's live music venues. Some of the best spots include Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theatre, Antone's for blues, and ACL Live. Check with your Estate Host for up-to-date schedules and ticket availability.

Day 2

Morning

Sip a tasty cup of french-pressed Tiny House Coffee made from your in-room coffee service to give you a little extra energy to power through a good workout. Join us in the sunken gardens for a morning yoga flow with instructor Caitlin Fennessy of Peach House ATX.

Set off for a wine tasting in the Hill Country. Ask your Estate host for a comprehensive guide to the many wineries throughout the Texas Hill Country. We are also happy to provide you with snacks for the adventure.

Afternoon

Visit Wild Seed Farms in Fredericksburg. This is the largest working wildflower farm in the country. March through October, their expansive fields are a colorful display of native Texas wildflowers.

Satiate your appetite with fried oyster nachos at Emma & Ollie in Fredericksburg. This spot, located just south of Main Street was on Texas Monthly magazines's list of top new Texas restaurants for 2019. The farm-to-table menu is inspired by memories from the owners' grandmothers.

Hit a couple (or more) of Texas Hill Country wineries. Grape Creek in Fredericksburg and William Chris in Hye are tops.

Return for a dip in the elegant resort pool and enjoy refreshments and delicious bites. (Pool is adults only after 5:00 pm)

Evening

Join us in the Mansion Bar between 5:00 and 6:30 pm for The Mystic Hour, where you can sip on a cocktail while receiving a complimentary tarot reading. Then head to Lutie's for a view of our Estate Gardens and Chef Bradley's garlic fish, made with the catch of the day.

Head out to one of Austin’s many “speakeasy” cocktail bars. Ask an Estate host for any secrets to locating them. Check out Midnight Cowboy on East 6th Street downtown, where the intimate vibe is amplified by prohibited cell phone use. But, be sure that your Estate Host reserves a table for you in advance.

Day 3

Morning

Salute the sun with a personalized yoga class. Have your Estate host arrange for one of our fitness partners to guide you through an energizing session tailored just for you.

Fuel up for the day with breakfast in the Mansion dining room. Then, grab your swimsuit, sunscreen and hat for a day of boating on Lake Austin. The ski boat captain from Keep Austin Wet will meet you at Walsh Landing on Lake Austin Blvd for an excursion including skis and instruction.

Afternoon

Dine on a picnic lunch prepared by our culinary team. Relax as every detail has been taken care of, from the gingham picnic blanket, Champagne on ice, and delectable bites prepared with fresh, local ingredients by our award-winning chefs, Bradley Nicholson and Susana Querejazu.

Evening

Choose between one of Austin's top restaurants located in charming neighborhoods. We recommend Jeffrey's, Olamaie, Fonda San Miguel, and Launderette.
