WELCOME TO AUBERGE DU SOLEIL

Inspired by the south of France. Infused with California soul.

Showcasing breathtaking views, Auberge du Soleil is the dream of French restaurateur, Claude Rouas. In 1981, with business partner, Bob Harmon, Rouas opened Napa Valley’s first fine-dining restaurant, designed to reflect a taste of Provence in California wine country. The immediate success prompted the addition of “The Inn of the Sun” five years later. Nestled within a terraced, sun-kissed hillside amid 33-acres of heritage olive and oak trees, the hotel’s 50 contemporary guestrooms and suites, effortlessly blend relaxed sophistication with understated elegance, earning a long-standing reputation as wine country’s most iconic luxury property.

go home with a story

Renowned for its culinary roots, spectacular views and exceptional service, Auberge du Soleil is dedicated to ensuring each guest experience is unique. Enduring relationships with vintners and restaurateurs throughout the valley allow for exclusive access to some of the most sought-after - and little known - tours, tastings and dining experiences in wine country.

Highly recommend. The Auberge offers large suites with outdoor showers and bathtubs. The views are beautiful, and yet, the Auberge still offers a boutique and unique ambience for Napa. Great for honeymoons and anniversaries.

Drink Wines of the World

With more than 15,000 bottles on-hand from the hotel’s award-winning wine cellar, wine stewards at Auberge du Soleil have the world at their fingertips. According to Sommelier, Elizabeth Cahill, access to a deep range of global wines makes for intriguing table-side conversations with patrons at the fine-dining Michelin Star Restaurant. "So many of our guests are extremely knowledgeable about wine and they are able to share in great detail their style and varietal preferences. This dialogue is quite helpful in customizing successful wine pairings with each course of their meal. And if they are adventurous we offer side-by-side tastings of a familiar Napa Valley wine with something from another part of the world they may never have heard of before. It’s rewarding to introduce our guests to new wines that instantly become an unexpected favorite."

Learn Napa Locals Know What Google Doesn't

The best recommendations are by word of mouth. No matter where you are in Napa Valley, you can expect to be surrounded by locals, vintners, and farmers that can tell you what you won't find on trip advisor. For me, I love frequenting places where you can find something new and out of the ordinary...

Do Meet Me By The Flying Pig

Among the lavender beds, clipped boxwood, and myrtle, sculptures curated by Arena Gallery are dispersed throughout Auberge Du Soleil’s grounds. Artworks, ranging from over 60 different California artists, change frequently and delight guests in a treasure hunt of sorts.
