The Experience

The feast of the Virgin Mary is one of the holiest days on the island of Mykonos. Each August, eyes turn away from Chora to the small village of Ano Mera, situated 8 kilometers away, where the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani, with its impressive whitewashed exterior, colored dome and marble bell tower, is beautifully decorated for the occasion. In the village square, you’ll enjoy traditional music and dance performances and island delicacies during celebrations carried out starting August 14th through the 24th.
