The Experience
Buckle up for a rugged adventure by private safari vehicle to any one of Tanzania’s impressive national parks. ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK Less than twenty miles from Arusha, this small park consists of Mount Meru and its thickly forested slopes, Ngurdoto Crater, and numerous waterfalls. On a clear day, the view of Mount Meru eastward towards Mount Kilimanjaro is simply spectacular. LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK Lake Manyara lies at the foot of the western wall of the Great Rift Valley. Take in the entrancing groundwater forest of giant fig trees, ancient mahoganies and towering kapok, and the tremendous lake, covered by large flocks of water birds, and herds of elephant, giraffe and hippo along its shores. With a bit of luck, you might spot one of the park’s famed tree-climbing lions. MOUNT KILIMANJARO NATIONAL PARK At 19,340 feet, Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain and the world's highest freestanding mountain in the world. Tick one off your bucket list and try summiting to the top; mountaineering skills aren’t required. The view from up high is unsurpassed. NGORONGORO CRATER CONSERVATION AREA The jewel in the crown is this World Heritage Site, a 100-square mile Garden of Eden, a perfect caldera dramatically set at the base of 2,000 ft. walls. TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK Wide panoramas of open acacia woodland and grassy savannah studded with large baobabs mark Tarangire, a lesser known, 1,612-square mile scenic gem located in southern Masailand.
