Barton Seaver and Matthew Padilla are teaming up to celebrate sustainable seafood with a delicious and lavish seafood dinner on April 24. Chef Matthew of The White Barn Inn is one of New England’s leading chefs and helms the legendary restaurant at the inn. Barton brings decades of experience as an award-winning chef and author to this collaborative menu showcasing the finest seafood from Maine and beyond. During the course of this evening, he will speak about sustainable seafood from the Gulf of Maine and beyond.

Oyster & Beer Tasting Class

Master Seafood Chef and expert, Barton Seaver, will lead an interactive demo and tasting of select oysters from Casco Bay. In collaboration with Maine Beer Company, we will offer guests a culinary tour of the flavors of the celebrated region in addition to tasting and hands-on shucking lessons. Maine Beer Co will be on hand to sample their rare and experimental beers alongside some of their celebrated favorites. Barton will speak to the growing oyster industry and its presence in Maine and beyond. It promises to be a lively and spirited event.

His expertise has garnered him positions with the United States Culinary Ambassador Corp, the New England Aquarium, and the Harvard School of Public Health leading initiatives to inform consumers and institutions about how food choices can promote healthier people, environment, and thriving communities. An internationally recognized speaker, Barton has delivered lectures, seminars, and demos to a multitude of audiences. He has written seven seafood-centric books, including American Seafood and has contributed to dozens of publications and media programs. He is also the founder of Coastal Culinary Academy, a multi- platform initiative that seeks to increase seafood consumption through seafood- specific culinary education for all levels of cooks.

Prior to the White Barn Inn, Chef Matthew was Executive Chef at The Inn at Dos Brisas, Texas' only Forbes 5-Star restaurant. Chef Matthew is passionate about highlighting the bounty of New England and supporting local growers, purveyors, and producers. His cuisine and craft are an ever-evolving reflection of New England's culinary heritage.
