    Auberge Resorts Collection to Manage Nanuku Resort & Spa in Fiji

    MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (November 13, 2014) – Auberge Resorts Collection, the leading portfolio of boutique luxury hotels and residences worldwide, announced today plans to manage Nanuku Resort and Spa, an ultra-luxury boutique resort that opened in March on Fiji’s main island of Viti Levu, and rebrand it Nanuku Auberge Resort Fiji The resort is owned by Bixby Bridge Capital, a Chicago-based real estate investment firm. Nanuku, the newest and most luxurious hospitality offering in Fiji, is acclaimed for its blend of contemporary luxury and traditional Fijian culture, its sense of outdoor adventure and highly personalized service.

    A sanctuary for relaxation and discovery set on two of the island’s best beaches, Nanuku offers 18 Balinese-style suite and villa accommodations furnished with relaxed contemporary and Fijian décor and featuring expansive decks, private plunge pools and ocean views. Nanuku’s Club House is the private hub for resort guests and boasts beautifully landscaped gardens and sea views through a colonnade of handcrafted Fijian decorated posts. The chic Lomana Spa and Wellness Centre includes a fitness center (with personal trainer on standby), a hair salon, the Lailai Children’s Club, and a guest library. Guests may learn skills from local artisans in the Cakava Creative Workshop, from grass skirt weaving to tapa printing. The Kanavata Restaurant and Lounge Bar looks out across an infinity pool to an azure lagoon framed by coconut palms. The Sunset Deck is located poolside, and the Wai Pool Bar serves tropical drinks (including the resort’s legendary Nanuku caprioskas) infused with local ingredients.

    The resort’s “Villa Mamas” (the term nods to the easy-going Fijian culture) provide thoughtful care for each guest, serving as a hybrid between a housekeeper and butler. Every family has a dedicated nanny. Attentive staff extends to the property’s food and beverage outlets, where guests may opt for a pre-arranged gourmet picnic on the beach or an alfresco barbeque by the pool. Each evening, the executive chef prepares a three-course menu crafted from the freshest of local and imported produce, resulting in a fabulous fusion of international and Fijian dishes.

    Pacific Harbour is known as the Adventure Capital of Fiji, where world-class surfing and fishing are just a few feet from the villas’ doorsteps. Guests of Nanuku are privy to a host of activities from stand-up river rafting to hiking through the rainforest.     Nanuku’s Vunikau (Treehouse) Residence is perched atop a volcanic outcrop and overlooks the tranquil Beqa Lagoon. Made up of four suites, the Vunikau Residence is comprised of the Penthouse Suite and three Vunikau Suites, which can be used exclusively or on a stand-alone basis. Each Vunikau Suite is separately keyed and has private access off a shared breezeway.

    Plans for Nanuku include a limited number of private beachfront residences that will be developed and offered for purchase. Each Nanuku Ocean Estates residence will be oriented toward the shore to capture ocean breezes and panoramic views.

    Auberge Resorts Collection to Manage Landmark Residential Project on Fort Lauderdale Beachfront

    MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (October 30, 2014) – Auberge Resorts Collection, the leading portfolio of boutique luxury hotels and residences worldwide, today announced its first project in Florida: Auberge Beach Residences and Spa Fort Lauderdale. The first project of its kind in Fort Lauderdale, the 171-unit beachfront condominium property will be the only on-the-sand luxury residential offering in the destination. Florida’s premier developers, The Related Group and Fortune International Group, in partnership with The Fairwinds Group of Fort Lauderdale, have appointed Auberge to oversee every aspect of the lifestyle at what will be the most refined project of its kind in Fort Lauderdale history.

    Auberge Beach Residences Fort Lauderdale will be developed on the best beachfront site in the destination, a 4.6-acre parcel that is the former home to Ireland’s Inn Beach Resort.     Auberge Resorts Collection Earns Top Honors in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2014 Readers’ Choice Awards

    Top 10 Rankings for Napa Valley’s Auberge du Soleil and Calistoga Ranch, with Hotel Jerome and Esperanza Rounding out the Honors

(October 23, 2014) – Auberge Resorts Collection has once again earned top honors in Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards, securing “Top 10” rankings for four exceptional resorts in one of the world’s most acclaimed travel awards programs. Auberge du Soleil, Esperanza, Calistoga Ranch, and Hotel Jerome have been ranked among the 10 best in their respective categories in the 27th annual poll that received more than 1 million votes from nearly 77,000 readers with the results appearing in the November 2014 issue of Condé Nast Traveler. 

    Esperanza in Cabo San Lucas earned a No. 2 ranking on the “Best Resorts in Mexico (Pacific)” list as well as a No. 93 spot in the “Top 100 Hotels & Resorts in the World.” Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Colo., ranked No. 6 on the “Best Hotels in the West” list after reopening in December of 2012 following a historic restoration and design transformation.     Auberge Resorts Collection Appoints Ken Springer Vice President of Design and Construction

(September 3, 2014) – Auberge Resorts Collection, the leading portfolio of boutique luxury hotels and residences worldwide, announced that Ken Springer has joined the company as Vice President of Design and Construction.  In this newly created position, Springer will oversee all aspects of new construction and capital expenditures on current and future Auberge properties.

    Springer brings more than 25 years of hands-on hospitality design and construction project management experience to Auberge. He has worked with a number of prestigious brands, including Four Seasons, Fairmont, Rosewood, Belmond and The Residences at Little Nell. His experience extends to the renovation and new development of numerous hotels, resorts and residential projects in mountain, beach and urban environments.

    Springer has spent the most of his career working with TynanGroup, Inc. or as an independent management professional. He began his career with Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, he received his MBA from Pepperdine University’s Presidential and Key Executive program.

    Springer is a LEED-Accredited Professional and a former board member of the Boutique and Lifestyle Lodging Association.

    Auberge Resorts Collection to Manage Luxury Hotel and Residence Project In Idaho’s Fabled Sun Valley Resort

    MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (August 13, 2014) – Auberge Resorts Collection, the leading portfolio of boutique luxury hotels and residences worldwide, today announced that it has signed a deal to operate a planned boutique luxury hotel and penthouse residential development in historic downtown Ketchum, Idaho, the commercial and cultural heart of the legendary Sun Valley Resort. The first new lodging project to be built in the region since the early 1990s, it will be the first ultra-luxury property in greater Sun Valley, America’s original mountain resort.

    The 155,000-square-foot mixed-use project will comprise 62 hotel rooms and 14 residences, a full-service restaurant and bar, spa and fitness facilities and technology-driven meeting and conference space, in addition to other amenities. The hotel’s project owner and sponsor, Trail Creek Fund, LLC, is led by Ketchum-based Managing Member Jack Bariteau, developer behind prominent residential and mixed-use real estate projects in Ketchum, including The Shops and Residences at the Colonnade, The Christiania Building and 600 Second Street East.

    Located in a historically significant neighborhood at the gateway entrance to downtown Ketchum, the hotel is conveniently located within easy walking distance to the town’s diverse attractions, advanced high-speed lift and gondola access to Bald Mountain. Guest rooms will offer unparalleled views of the mountain’s east-facing ski runs and Sun Valley’s unique topography. Hotel amenities will include a lively casual bar and grill, extensive fitness amenities, heated outdoor swimming pool and sun terrace, full-service spa and meeting facilities. Fourteen for-purchase luxury residences on the hotel’s upper floors, including six fourth-floor penthouses, will offer direct unobstructed views to the top of Bald and Dollar Mountains. Ranging from 1,750 square feet to 2,400 square feet in a single-level plan, the residences will be accessible by private elevator with exclusive two-car underground parking and storage and will offer full access to Auberge hotel services and amenities. The hotel, fully entitled by the City of Ketchum, has been designed by the renowned San Francisco-based hospitality architectural firm Hornberger + Worstell, AIA.

    First developed in 1936, Sun Valley was the vision of W. Averell Harriman, then CEO of the Union Pacific Railroad, who sought to create an American version of the popular ski resorts in Switzerland and Austria. Following a nationwide search, Harriman selected Ketchum, Idaho, over locations in California, Utah and Colorado because of its accessible base elevation under

    6,000 feet, exceptional natural terrain and snow conditions, year-round recreational activities, natural beauty and endless sun. Dubbed the “first instant million-dollar resort,” Sun Valley redefined skiing as resort recreation and introduced the concept of the ski resort as a social, four-season leisure destination.     Claude Brock Named Chief Financial Officer of Auberge Resorts

    MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (May 5, 2014)Auberge Resorts, the leading portfolio of boutique luxury hotels and residences worldwide, has appointed Claude Brock Chief Financial Officer. Brock will lead and direct the company’s financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and capital planning activities. He will also be charged with developing and implementing a technology roadmap for Auberge Resorts and supporting the company’s expansion initiatives.

    Brock will support the company’s existing operations, provide leadership to enhance the portfolios financial performance, capitalize on business opportunities and propel future growth to allow full realization of enterprise value for Auberge Resorts. “Claude is a highly respected industry expert with an impressive track record that is underscored by his excellent working relationship with investors and business partners,” said Mark Harmon, Managing Partner, Auberge Resorts.

    Brock joins the Auberge Resorts team following a 20-year tenure with KSL Resorts, where he was Director of Operational Finance. He oversaw all aspects of operational accounting, procurement, information technology and internal audit for a portfolio of 2,900 rooms, 68 F&B outlets, 55 retail outlets and 11 golf courses. Brock had an active role in several significant transactions, including the sale of KSL Recreation Corporation to CNL Hotels in 2004. During his tenure as KSL’s Western Region CFO, he oversaw all accounting, purchasing and information technology functions for Grand Wailea Resort, Claremont Resort & Spa, and La Quinta Resort & Club. A graduate of California State University Chico, Brock began his career in the hospitality industry at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, where he worked in the accounting departments at The Copley Plaza in Boston and the Wyndham Palm Springs Hotel.

    Auberge Resorts Appoints Randolph Weisz Executive Advisor to Senior Management Team

    MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (April 1, 2014) – Auberge Resorts, the leading portfolio of boutique luxury hotels and residences worldwide, announced today that Randolph Weisz, a former Executive Vice President at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, will join the company as Executive Advisor to the Senior Management Team. Weisz will be an integral force in the global expansion of Auberge Resorts. Throughout his association with Four Seasons, Weisz was involved in the structuring and implementing of transactions involving more than 50 hotels and resorts, including a significant number with residential properties. He was also involved in all of the corporate transactions critical to the emergence of Four Seasons as a globally recognized hospitality brand.

    “Randy’s success completing property and corporate transactions at Four Seasons was very attractive to us, as we are actively expanding to new markets,” said Craig Reid, CEO of Auberge Resorts. “His demonstrated expertise negotiating business and financial terms for new properties and corporate investments will be a valuable asset to help us achieve our growth objectives, and given his industry background, he understands the long-term strategic goals of Auberge, our employees, and our guests.”

    In his role at Four Seasons as Executive Vice President of Business Administration and General Counsel, Weisz was responsible for managing the worldwide business and legal affairs of the company relating to property investments and other corporate investments and initiatives. “Randy worked closely with Four Seasons hotel owners, developers and investors to fashion win/win partnerships to achieve their financial objectives, and that effort will be one of his key roles at Auberge Resorts,” said Craig Reid, CEO of Auberge Resorts.

    During his tenure, Weisz was also a member of the Management Committee, comprised of the eight most senior executives at Four Seasons, responsible for running the business of Four Seasons worldwide.

    Prior to joining Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Weisz was a Partner at the Goodmans LLP law firm, where he practiced corporate and commercial law with a special focus on financing and restructuring.
