The Somosomo Strait, one of Fiji’s best-known dive destinations, runs between Taveuni Island and Vanua Levu, just a short boat ride from Nanuku. Here, you’ll find abundant marine life including more than 1,200 species of reef fish, and even the occasional Spinner dolphin and humpback whale. But what keeps bringing divers back year after year is its dazzling coral in bright profusions of pink, orange, purple and yellow. Normally the currents are little more than a gentle helping hand along the way, guiding you past some of the most wonderful proliferations of soft corals on the planet.
