Day 1
Morning
Start the day with a fitness class ranging from Morning Stretch to Body Sculpting and Aquatic Splash.
Fuel up for a day of exploration with an egg white frittata with local, seasonal vegetables in the Main Dining Room. In the warm weather, dine on the patio overlooking the Shakespeare Garden.
After breakfast stroll through the Shakespeare Garden, filled with herbs and plants Shakespeare mentioned in his poetry and plays.
Afternoon
Hike the Steep Rock Loop in Steep Rock Reserve. This 4-mile stretch the takes you past the Shepaug River and some spectacular views.
Enjoy a Mayflower packed lunch at one of the trail's picnic sites.
Venture further on the 1.3-mile Holiday House Loop. It will take you by the ruins of the Holiday House, a hotel built in 1893 by philanthropist Edward I. Van Ingen as a retreat for young working women from New York City.
Return to The Mayflower to restore your body and mind with a spa treatment. Make sure you leave enough time to fully enjoy the relaxation room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the forest and pond.
Relax by the pool and order a bottle of rosé to sip as you reflect on your day.
Evening
Dine at Community Table. Order the carrot hummus. If you are there on a Monday, don't miss it - it's burger night. You might be arm wrestling with a local for the last burger.
Delight in a cocktail made by our resident mixologist at the Tap Room at the Mayflower, while listening to the beautiful piano playing of David Grausman.

Day 2
Morning
Find your perfect form with pilates, yoga or barre. Private classes can be arranged, and you can even learn to fence from a former Russian Olympian.
Order breakfast to the spa so you can fully take in this beautiful facility. Make your own smoothie and try our house-made granola. Linger with your coffee and book in the relaxation room.
Discover the American Poets Maze. Eight American poets are honored with a plaque of their words to further celebrate language in landscape.
Afternoon
Explore, taste and shop your way through Washington, Connecticut and the surrounding area. Visit Arethusa Farm, owned by two executives from Manolo Blahnik. The barns are as clean as one of their shoe showrooms.
Bring your dog and sit at the picnic tables amongst the vines at Haight Brown Vineyards.
Indulge in lunch at Arethusa a Mano. Arethusa's grilled cheese is made from three of their own dairy farm's cheeses. Then, head across the street to their creamery to finish with some award-wining ice cream.
Drive to Lake Waramaug for a canoe or kayak session. Afterwards, enjoy a class of wine at Hopkins Vineyards overlooking Lake Waramaug.
Shop the town center of the recently restored classic Connecticut rural village, New Preston.
Evening
Savor wild king salmon with spiced carrots, braised artichokes and snap peas at The Mayflower Main Dining Room. Save room for dessert - green apple mousse, creamy caramel custard, thyme streusel, or apple sorbet, featuring apples from a local orchard, Averille Farms.
Enjoy a nightcap at The Fire Pit. Pair s'mores with bourbon from Litchfield Distillery. Litchfield Distillery's Batchers' Vanilla Bourbon makes a tasty vanilla old fashioned.
