Resort Attire

Temperatures range between 75 and 85 degrees during the day. Ocean breezes keep the afternoons comfortable; cooler evenings may require a light jacket or wrap. Footwear and cover-ups are requested in all public areas.

Airport Transfers

If you should require transportation to and from the Kona International Airport, the Concierge will be happy to arrange it for you. The Resort is located 22 miles north of Kona International Airport. Taxi service may be arranged in advance from the airport. Please contact the Concierge for pricing information for a sedan, limousine or sport utility vehicle (SUV) from the airport. Airport tax and sales tax are included in the price of resort-arranged transportation; gratuity is at your discretion. There is a four-hour cancellation policy for taxi reservations and a twenty four-hour cancellation policy on all sedan, SUV and limousine reservations.

Rental Cars

Hertz rental cars are available at the Resort with advanced reservations and based on availability. Advance-reserved cars must be picked up on date and time confirmed to avoid release of reservation by Hertz. Should you decide to rent a car once at the Resort, requests will be taken for the same day only and based on availability. Hotel guests, please contact the Concierge if you would like assistance with a rental car.

Laundry/Dry Cleaning

Laundry services are offered. Self-serve washers and dryers are also available. Complimentary detergent is available.

Christmas Trees and Festive Floral Arrangements

Fully decorated artificial Christmas trees are available for your guest room. Prices range from $195 for an elegant tabletop tree to $675 for a deluxe, fully decorated 6′ tree. You may choose either traditional Christmas décor, including ornaments, ribbons and twinkle lights, or elegant Hawaiian décor with natural fibers, island ornaments and accent twinkle lights. Should you wish to purchase the tree ornaments, please contact the Concierge to confirm pricing. Orders for 2020 are fully committed! 

Resort Dining Policies

Our Festive dining policy is in effect December 18th, 2020 to January 3, 2021. Due to high demand for reservations during this period, please make reservations in advance of your arrival. Please be aware that if no reservations are made prior to your arrival, reservation times will be limited. Any reservations that are cancelled within four (4) hours of the reservation time or if the party does not show for their reservation, a $50 per person fee will apply. All reservations will be released after 15 minutes of reserved time if the party does not arrive.

Hawaii State Law dictates that there must be two or more people aged 21 years or older present in order for a guest to consume a bottle of wine brought from outside the licensed premises. A valid proof of identification will be required.

All dining outlets at Mauna Lani Resort properties charge a corkage fee of $60 per bottle.

Any party of six or more guests is considered a large party, and an automatic 18% gratuity will be charged for parties of 6 or more guests. For parties greater than 10 people, seating may be split into two or more tables. Large party reservations will be accepted between 6:00 pm through 6:45pm, 8:00pm and after.

Nanny Cancellation Policy

If a nanny is scheduled for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day and subsequently cancelled between Dec. 1 and Dec. 15, a cancellation fee of four hours at the confirmed hourly DOUBLE rate will be charged. After Dec. 15, any scheduled hours for the holidays noted above may not be altered; a change/cancel fee of the FULL amount will be charged at the confirmed hourly DOUBLE rate. A cancellation fee will be assessed for sits of four (4) days or longer that are cancelled with less than 5 days’ notice. If a holiday is included in those dates, the holiday cancellation policy will also apply. A credit card number is required to guarantee the service only; however, payment is made directly to the nanny in cash. Nanny confirmations are subject to change. Malihini Keiki Care reserves the right to substitute with an alternate nanny in the event of scheduling conflicts, illness or unavailability of the nanny beyond the control of Malihini Keiki Care. The following dates and times are considered holidays and will be booked at double rates: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 6:00 a.m. through Thursday, Dec. 26 at 6:00 a.m. New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day from 6:00 a.m. through Thursday, Jan. 2 at 6:00 a.m. Please contact the Concierge Desk
