Esperanza, An Auberge Resort - Hurricane Odile Relief Fund

Los Cabos & Esperanza Update: Recovery & Restoration after Hurricane Odile

Sep 26, 2014

On September 14th, 2014 Hurricane Odile, one of the strongest hurricanes in modern history made landfall in Baja California. Thankfully because of the precautionary actions of our Esperanza General Manager – guests, homeowners and staff were safely evacuated off property when the hurricane hit, and no injuries were sustained. However, due to the damage caused by the Hurricane, Esperanza is currently closed until November 15, 2014.

The area has suffered significant damage and the well-being of our employees and their families has been our highest priority. The damage to the area has placed many employees in local shelters as their homes were unable to withstand the flooding and unfortunately many have lost everything.

The support and desire to help from our fellow employees, guests and homeowners has been overwhelming.  In response to the outpouring of requests we have set up a relief fund that will be administered by our General Manager, Marc Rodriguez, to aid Esperanza employees and their families during this difficult time. 100% of this fund will go solely to Esperanza employees.

The Auberge Resorts Home Office and investors have pledged $50,000 to support this effort.

To provide a donation to our employee relief please do this online using Esperanza Employee Relief Fund or on the Esperanza Facebook Link using the Donation Relief tab.

Checks may also be made payable to:

In spite of the damage, and hardship on our employees – we are beginning to foresee the light ahead and predict that Los Cabos and Esperanza will come back stronger than ever. Basic services (such as power, water, and internet) have been restored – and the airport is predicted to re-open October 10. The world-famous Bisbee’s fishing tournament is still on schedule to take place on October 17. Spirits are high at Esperanza as all employees are back on property, contributing to the clean up and recovery process.

Thank you from our entire Auberge and Esperanza family for your generosity in contributing to our Relief Fund – Cabo will shine again!
