At the Michelin-starred Brooklyn eatery Oxomoco, Chef Justin Bazdarich combines a deep reverence for Mexico’s culinary heritage with playful experimentation that includes merging inspirations from Oaxaca and Mexico City. At Taste of Auberge: Oxomoco at Esperanza, Chef Justin brings his unique culinary vision to the heirloom ingredients found in the mountains, desert and sea of Baja. At this limited engagement series, running for two weekends of October 28-30 and November 4-6, 2022, guests will have the choice of six special dinner events taking place at Cocina del Mar, La Palapa and at Agave Garden, and witness the acclaimed Oxomoco culinary team in action in our exhibition kitchens. The Bar at Cocina del Mar will also offer four signature Oxomoco cocktails, prepared and offered exclusively only during this 10-day period.

Justin Bazdarich

Justin moved from Kansas City to New York City in 2001 to attend the French Culinary Institute. He landed an internship at Jean-Georges and in just three years grew from intern to sous chef and then opening chef of Perry Street. Fast forward to 2011, Justin opened the well known pizza spot, Speedy Romeo, alongside Todd Feldman. Seven years later, Bazdarich went on to open his first Mexican concept, Oxomoco, which earned a Michelin Star in 2019. In his latest venture, Justin has teamed up with Restaurateur John McDonald to open Bar Tulix, a seafood-focused Mexican restaurant in Soho serving up fresh crudos, seafood tostadas and other Baja California specialties.
