    Guest restrooms are located at the Pool, Hillside Pool, the Reception, the Wine Cave, the Lakehouse Restaurant, and the Spa.
  • Can I purchase a gift certificate?
    Yes, gift certificates can be purchased at or through the front desk, the gift certificate value can be redeemed at any Calistoga Ranch outlet.
  • Do you have a toll-free number?

  • We want to bring our children – What is there for children to do?
    Children and families are welcome. The Hillside Pool is highly recommended for families to enjoy together! Our Concierge can reach out with our current activities such as a garden tour with Juan Luis, beekeeping class, family hike, family friendly winery experience, kids/family cooking class with chef, or painting in the vineyard

  • Can I dial out on the house phone?
    Calls between lodges are placed by dialing 7+ lodge #. All calls are complementary to the guest and can be dialed directly from the lodge; in order to make an international call the passcode is 6066 and to dial out it is 9011 then the international number.
  • Do you have brochures?
    As part of our green initiative with Auberge, we do not have property brochures, everything may be found on the website. *Sales has a wedding brochure
  • Do you sell newspapers?
    Newspapers are complimentary; a variety of newspapers are available to read at Reception and the Lakehouse Restaurant. Additionally, guests are asked at check-in their newspaper preference which will be delivered each morning. Guests also have an option to read newspapers on their ipads in the lodge.
  • Can I buy some personal items?
    At the front office, they have hats, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, sweatshirts, coffee cups, and tea bags. (Seasonal rotation selected by the Spa) Housekeeping also has an inventory of sundries (dental kits, deodorant, hairspray, etc.) which can be delivered to the lodge complimentary.
  • How can a guest listen to a message left on the phone in their lodge?
    The guest will press the flashing message light to retrieve messages or choose line 1 and press the pound button.
  • Where can I smoke?
    We are a non-smoking property, but the guests are legally able to smoke outdoors 100 feet away from any building. At reception, guests are recommended to smoke at the bocce ball courts.
  • Do you sell cigarettes?
    No, Calistoga Ranch doesn’t have the permits/licenses to sell cigars or cigarettes. The closest general store is on Lincoln Ave. in Calistoga, for late nights you can also get cigarettes at the gas station at the corner of Hwy 29 and Lincoln Ave.
  • Where can I make photocopies or print a document?
    The Front Desk will be happy to accommodate your request. Copies of less than 15 pages are complimentary, if the document is over 15 papers it will be $.50. for color and $.20. for black and white.
  • Can I send a fax?
    Yes, faxing is free of charge.
  • Do you have access to email and the internet?
    Guest lodges are equipped with high-speed internet for your personal computer, iPads, and phones. You may connect to the “Calistoga Ranch” wifi network which has no password. The front desk is able to assist guests with email and internet access if they don’t have a device available.
  • Can I cash a check?
    We do not accept checks.
  • Can I exchange my foreign currency?
    We are unable to exchange foreign currency. WestAmerica Bank, located in St. Helena and Calistoga, offer this service. There may be waiting for period.

    Reception, Pool Bar (during the summer), Lakehouse, and Bathhouse.

  • What are the average temperatures and does it ever rain here?
    The Napa Valley enjoys a year-round average temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, with highs(90-100 during the summer) and lows(38-50 during the winter). Dry hot summer climate with cool mornings and evenings wet cool winter climate with rain December through March. The average annual rainfall is about 37 inches. The rain makes it one of the most beautiful seasons, with vibrant green grass and yellow mustard.
  • What’s the elevation here?
    Here in the canyon, the elevation starts at 400ft and rises to 1200 feet at the north and 1400 feet at the southwest.
  • What are the mountains we are looking at?
    The rugged Palisades overlook the Valley and lie to the east. The forested Mayacama Mountains flank the west. Mount St. Helena reaches over 4300 feet, making it the highest mountain in the Bay Area.
  • What is Lake Lommel?
    A stream-fed lake named for the man who owned this land for nearly 80 years, Arle Lommel. It holds about 5 million gallons of water and serves as a backup for the fire system.
  • Can anyone swim in the lake?
    No, the department of fish and game strictly enforce all activity in natural habitats. The lake is home to mallard ducks, large-mouth bass and bluegill.
  • What about the creek?
    The creek is called, Biter Creek, named for the family who lived here and worked the land.
  • Where does your water come from?
    From a well found deep in the ground. The well pumps 57,000 gallons per day into two water storage tanks; one for consumption and one for the fire system.
  • What happens if we run out of water?
    We have a backup well.
  • Is it safe to drink the water?
    Yes. Our water is purified by an ultraviolet system.
  • What happens to your waste water?
    We have our own waste water treatment system.
  • Is there water in the creek?
    Biter Creek is a seasonal creek. It is dry during the summer months.
  • Do you use gas for cooking and heating?
    Yes, we have propane gas that is stored in a 17,000-gallon tank.
  • Who is our winemaker?
    Our winemaker is Giovani Verdejo and we custom crush our wine at Rutherford Hill Winery.
    We make our Sotero Cabernet Sauvignon from the one and half acre vineyard on the property where we grow our Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
    Our vineyard is named after Sotero, the head of grounds whom opened Calistoga Ranch; Sotero still works at CR along with his son Juan Luis whom is now the head of grounds.
    We do not have a tasting room here on the property, but you can always purchase our wine by the bottle or by the glass through the Lakehouse, In Room Dining or at reception.
  • Can I make dinner reservations at other Auberge properties?
    Yes, our concierge would be happy to make a reservation at Solage or Auberge Du Soleil.
  • Does Calistoga Ranch make donations to charitable organizations?
    Donation requests are handled through the Calistoga Ranch Executive Office. Donation requests should be submitted in writing, on the organization’s letterhead, to:

    In the past Calistoga Ranch has added a $5 donation to each reservation to assist with local disaster relief from the devastating fires in Sonoma/Napa County in 2017. CR has also added a $2 donation to support the Napa Valley Vine Trail, a local green initiatives project extending a bike/running path throughout the Napa Valley.
  • Will you rent your restaurant or bar space for a private party?
    For overnight guests of the resort, we have private function space available for seating up to 140. There are opportunities for buyouts of Lakehouse.

  • What is the edible, round fruit that grow across the property called?
    Arbutus Unedo, a strawberry tree. Native to the Mediterranean region and western Europe. This fruit is very bitter.
  • Where do you get the pots for the Succulents at Reception?
    From Artifacts at the Cornerstone in Sonoma
  • Where do you get your flowers in Lakehouse and in Spa?
    From Tesoro in St. Helena


  • What are the lodges constructed of?
    Man-made material with cedar shingles (fire treated), copper gutters and trim. The outdoor shower area is made of cedar and redwood. The deck trellis and rail caps are redwood. The cabinets, floors and deck are mahogany. The furniture is teak; the countertops are granite.
  • What kind of wood do you burn in your fireplaces?
    Each guest lodge has a gas fireplace. At the Reception Lodge, the Pool and the Lakehouse Restaurant, there are wood-burning fireplaces that are fueled by firewood found in the Napa Valley.
  • Do you accept pets?
    Yes, for a one-time $150 fee, in our guest lodges. Dogs are permitted in open air facilities throughout the property. Pets must be on a leash at all times while at the resort. We will gladly provide your furry friend a water/food bowl and a cozy bed for their getaway as well.
    We request that pets be crate trained and in the crate if left alone in the lodge or that they stay with a pet sitter when not with their owners.
  • Do you have any food for my pet?
    Yes, our chef offers “Calistoga Canine Culinary Program” for an additional cost. Please call room service to order for your furry friend. Prices will vary based on the size of your pet.
  • How many guest lodges do you have?
    50 (1 – Estate, 4 – Meadow Spa, 14 – Oak Creek Spas, 10 Bay Forest Spas, 13 – Bay Forests, 3 – Hillside Deluxe, and 5 – Deluxe.) We also have homeowner lodges. Plus 3 Meadow Spa Club Lodges we split 60/40 with the owners of those lodges (we get the 40 split), totaling 22 lodges. Making our total number of units on property 72
  • Is it possible to see a lodge?
    One of the best features of CR is the privacy that we can offer because our facilities aren’t open to the public. Any visits to the resort to see a room require prior arrangements made with CR’s Sales Team or at the discretion of a supervisor/manager.
  • Do you have ADA accessible lodges?
    Yes, we have two ADA lodges available. One Deluxe (#143) and one Oak Creek (#101)
  • Can we reserve the same lodge as last year?
    Reservations will be happy to note the request. We do not guarantee a room number without reviewing with the guest the possibility of any unforeseen issues causing a room change.
  • Does the room rate include breakfast?
    Breakfast is served a la carte. Breakfast is only included if specified in the package you booked. Breakfast is available in the Lakehouse restaurant or In-Room Dining. For your convenience each lodge has its own coffee maker and teapot.
  • What kind of complimentary amenities do you offer?

  • Do you have safety deposit boxes?
    For your convenience, a safe is mounted in each lodge. If necessary a safety deposit box can be made available at reception.
  • Is there a minimum number of nights stay for the guest lodges?
    Depending on the time of year, there may be minimums. Reservations would be able to detail which dates for the guest.
  • What time is check-in and check-out?
    Our check-in time is 4:00 PM, and check-out time is 12:00 PM.
  • We would like an early check-in.
    We’ll do our very best to accommodate your request, however we cannot guarantee it.
  • We would like a late check-out.
    Depending on occupancy, the Front Desk can extend check-out to 2:00 PM. A fee may apply after 4:00 PM.
  • What kind of sheets, pillows, & comforters are in the rooms?
    Sheets are from Frette, king size 300 thread count and comforters are customized from Filidoro in Italy, pillows are from Down Etc. 50% down 50% feathers.
  • Who makes your towels? Also your bathrobes?
    Towels are from Frette, bathrobes from Victoirie Robes
  • What kind of mattresses do you have?
    Mattress is a Serta Perfect Sleeper 1550
  • What is the square footage of each lodge?
    The lodges range in size from 600 square feet of indoor/outdoor space for the Deluxe Lodge, the one bedroom lodges are 1200 square feet of indoor/outdoor space. The Meadow Spa Lodges, Club Lodges and Estate Lodge are is 2400 square feet of indoor/outdoor space.
  • Are the items in the mini bar including the bottle of wine complimentary?
    Yes, they are for the guests to enjoy.
  • I love the lotions you have in the room, are they for sale?
    Yes, they can be purchased from The Spa or Front Desk.
  • Are your robes, sheets, linens for sale?
    Yes, these items can be purchased directly from the manufacturers. We do not carry extras on property for the guests to purchase at CR.
  • Do you have movies available to enjoy in our room?
    Each room has Google Chromecast and Pay Per View movie system.
  • I understand you have lodges for sale here.
    Our club real estate representative will be happy to discuss this with you. Josh Dempsey, is the real estate agent who sells the home owner lodges.
  • Where are the ice machines?
    We do not have ice machines for guest use on property but Room Service, Housekeeping, or the Bell Desk will be happy to deliver ice to your lodge.
  • Do your rooms have microwaves?
    No, but Housekeeping can provide one for your lodge.
  • What is in the closet of our accommodation?
    6 wooden hangers with clips, 4-5 wooden hangers without clips, lantern, yoga mat, 2 umbrellas, 1 extra pillow, 1 extra blanket, and a scale.
  • How do you make up the sofa bed?
    At turn down service we will prepare the sofa bed in the living area with a sponge topper or feather bed over the mattress for more comfort. Sofa bed can be made up for one or two guests; additional pillows will be added for two along with sheets and a blanket.
  • Does your resort have rollaway beds?
    No, but we offer a “cloud”. They are made up on the floor with a folded feather bed topper as the comfort, prepared with sheets, a duvet and pillows.

Housekeeping & Laundry

  • Do you have laundry and dry cleaning facilities?
    There is a laundry bag and a tag in each guest lodge. We can prepare wash and fold laundry on property but all dry cleaning must be sent off property. Laundry pick up is at 9:00 AM, it will be back same say by 6:00 PM, no dry cleaning service on Sunday.
  • I need to have my clothes pressed.
    We’ll be happy to iron your clothes for you. There is a charge for pressing in house. If you prefer, an iron and ironing board are available in your guest lodge. The items can be found in the Living Room bathroom closet.
  • Do you have a lost and found?
    Yes, our PBX department is in charge of Lost and Found, a log of all lost and found items can be found on the G drive.
  • What does your turndown service entail?
    The housekeepers will provide fresh drinking water bedside, shades and shutters will be closed, and bed linen will be adjusted for easy access.


  • Do you provide transportation?
    Our concierge can help set up transportation to/from the airport as well as to any location in the valley. All costs to be covered by guest. Due to the limited availability of taxis in the area, we suggest arranging for taxis, cars, and shuttles with as much advance notice as possible.
  • Do you have Uber or Lyft in the area?
    Yes, please keep in mind it may take up to 30 minutes for the driving services to arrive due to our location in the valley.
  • Does your resort offer a shuttle service?
    No, but we do have a complimentary Mercedes Benz program which allows you to use the cars on a first come first serve basis.


  • Do you have tennis courts?
    No; Auberge du Soleil has a Tennis Court that are available for use by guests of CR. Our Concierge can arrange a court. There are public courts located in Calistoga at the high school.
  • Do you have a golf course?
    No, however, there are several golf courses within 30 minutes of CR and we can assist with tee times. Silverado Golf (30min) in Napa that is a full 18 hole course.
  • Pool InformationCalistoga Ranch has two pools, both are saline based.
    The Main Pool is 4’ deep and kept at a temperature of 80 – 82 degrees. The Main Pool is 76 ft long, and 20 ft wide. The Main Pool and Jacuzzi were renovated in April 2016. The Jacuzzi is now 10×10. Both are 24 hours.
    Our Hillside Pool is open seasonally for families to enjoy together. It has lagoon entry, where you can walk right into the pool and it gradually gets to 4’ft deep. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at the Hillside pool.
  • Do you have a Jacuzzi? What is the temperature of your Jacuzzi?We have a Jacuzzi next to the Main Pool as well as at the Spa. Guests do not need a reservation to utilize the Spa facilities, both are approximately 102 degrees with a max temperature of 104.
  • Where can I rent a bicycle?
    We offer complimentary use of our bicycles for both adults and children. They are available on a first come first serve basis and do not need to be checked out.
  • Do you have a fitness center?
    Yes, it is located next to the pool. It is equipped with a variety of fitness machines and free weights. It is open 24 hours and consists of an indoor space and open air space.
  • Can I use the pool facilities anytime?
    The pool is open 24 hours, after midnight we will need to have our Front Desk assist you with removing the cover.
  • Is your pool open to non-guests?
    All of our amenities and services are available only to Calistoga Ranch members and guests, CR is a private resort.
  • Do you offer exercise or yoga classes?
    Yes, we offer a variety of complimentary wellness classes rotated and scheduled through our Spa weekly. Please see the Vineline for the weekly class schedule.

Food and Beverage

  • Do you have a pool bar? What are the hours?
    The pool bar and grill is open 11am-7pm seasonally from March through October 31st.
  • What times are meals served in the restaurant?
    Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM, lunch from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM. We offer the lounge menu from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Sun-Thurs and 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM Fri-Sat., dinner is served in the dining room from 6:00 PM to 9:00 pm.
  • What kind of food do you serve?
    Napa farm to table, highlighting locally sourced Napa Valley ingredients. The menu is seasonal and changes throughout the year.
  • What is your dress code?
    Resort casual.
  • Can we reserve the same table as last year – or a particular table?
    We do not promise a specific table, but will do our best to honor any request.
  • Who is your chef?
    Chris Ludwick is our Resort Chef
  • Will the chef prepare items not listed on your menu?
    The chef is happy to prepare other items with reasonable notice.
  • How often does your menu change?
    Our Executive Chef is always updating and changing our menu with exciting new ingredients each season. It tends to change twice your year due to the seasons.
  • How often does the wine list change?
    It is constantly updated with wines and vintages.
  • How are your wines selected?
    Our wines are hand picked by our knowledgeable food and beverage team. They are sourced from local Napa and Sonoma wineries, along with a lovely collection of international and domestic wines.
  • Does your bar serve food?
    Yes, we offer our Lounge menu at the bar.
  • What times does your bar open/close?
    The lounge is open from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Sun-Thurs and 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM Fri-Sat.
  • Who produces your house wine?
    Our house wine is made by our winemaker John Clews.
  • Where can I get a drink?
    The Lakehouse restaurant and bar, Room Service, and the Pool Bar (open seasonally).
  • What is your corkage fee?
  • My friends are not staying here and would like to join us for dinner.
    Calistoga Ranch guests may invite outside guest’s to join them for any of our resort services. So we may best serve our guests, please inform the Front Desk when they will be arriving. Due to the size of Calistoga Ranch and out of respect for the other guest’s privacy, we recommend that no guests have more than four off property guests on site.
  • We have to get up very early in the morning; can we pre-order our breakfast through Room Service?
    Yes, dining requests can be made directly through In Room Dining or the ipad in a lodge. The kitchen does not open until 6:30 am, therefore selections will be very limited to early departures.
  • Can I order a picnic lunch?
    Yes. Please call Room Service, or pre-order on your iPad by 8:00 PM the night prior.
  • Is your room service menu available 24 hours a day?
    Yes, but we offer a limited menu from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM Mon-Thurs, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM Friday-Sat. Please call Front Desk for the available options.


  • How far is St. Helena?
    Seven miles South of Calistoga Ranch.
  • How far is Calistoga?
    Calistoga is located five miles North of Calistoga Ranch at the top of Napa Valley.
  • Can you recommend a good wine shop?
    There are several wine shops located in St. Helena on Main St. and in Calistoga on Lincoln Ave. Concierge will be able to recommend specific wine shops.
  • Where is the closest gas station?
    There are three located in Calistoga; Fast & Easy, 76 Station, and Arco. Fast & Easy is the only gas station open 24 hours in Calistoga.
    St. Helena has several gas stations on Main St. including a Chevron, 76, Flyers, Mobil, and Napa Valley Petrol.
  • What is the closest airport?
    Airports in Sacramento, Oakland, and San Francisco are equal distances from Calistoga. (Depending on traffic is can take about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours)
    Some smaller airlines, and private airlines also fly into Santa Rosa and Napa Airport, both are only about 45 minutes to an hour away.
  • Where is the closest Helipad?
    In Angwin, our Concierge can assist with arranging flights into Angwin.
  • Where is the resort located?
    Off the Silverado Trail, between the towns of St. Helena and Calistoga.

  • Tell me about your spa
    The setting is intimate with 5 indoor/outdoor treatment rooms including a couple’s suite. The Bathhouse provides a classic spa experience with therapies based on the healing properties found in ingredients indigenous to Calistoga and the Napa Valley.
  • Can we use the spa facilities without a spa treatment?
    Yes, by appointment only. Please contact the spa during your stay.
  • Can off-property guests use the spa as a day guest?
    Day guests may use the Spa at the discretion of the Spa staff. They must make arrangements with the spa directly in advance (707) 254-2820.
  • What are the spa hours?
    9:00 AM to 8:00 PM during peak season; 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM winter hours.
  • What items will we find in your spa’s boutique?
    CR logo apparel, button ups for a gentleman, dresses and blouses for women, men and women’s bathing suits, hats, lotions, beauty products, local jewelry, and sunscreen.
  • Do we offer Reiki?
    Yes, we don’t have it on the menu but some of our therapists are trained for this style of treatment.
  • Do you have facilities in your spa that are clothing optional?
    No, clothing is required as our spa is coed.
  • Can we book a private wellness class?
    Yes, please reach out to our Spa directly to discuss options.
  • How far in advance do we need to book our spa appointment?
    We recommend booking prior to your arrival, as our therapists are on call. It is best to book in advance, especially if you have any specific requests for a male/female therapist or a time frame that fits best with your itinerary.
