Condé Nast Traveler: Six new hotels that deserve a long trip this winter

LOCATION: Auberge Resorts recently opened its first hotel in Costa Rica , on a 52-hectare site in the tropical forests of the Talamanca mountain range , in the southeast of the country. The tropical birds that inhabit the area are just one of its many attractions, along with the coffee plantations, the routes through the jungle, the horse stables and the nearby river , to bathe in the middle of nature.

WHY WE LOVE IT: Costa Rica has long been at the forefront of sustainable and eco-friendly tourism . From one of the 50 houses with earthy tones that populate Hacienda AltaGracia , you can appreciate this type of leisure in all its fullness: horseback riding through the jungle, picnics at the beautiful Mina Escondida waterfall and bathing in its natural pool.
